Top 7 Barbershops in Toronto for the best cuts and fades
Finding your go-to barbershop is an important step to upping your grooming game.
Unfortunately for most, there's a trial and error process and you will likely go through a few below-average cuts before finding the right barbershop.
To help minimize these mishaps we've crafted a list of some of the best barbershops in Toronto based on our own personal experiences and what we've heard from our friends around the city.
When searching for the right shop consider these factors: the location, the vibe, the price, the barber-client relationship, and of course the quality.
It's a solid mix of all of these that will determine your barbershop experience so tread carefully and pay attention to the service and skill provided. It's really all about the details.
Here are our top 7 barbershops in the city:
1. The Fitting Room (Google rating 4.7 out of 5)
One of the most popular on the list and for good reason The Fitting Room found in the Dundas West neighbourhood has been the go-to for many in the city. It's relaxed vibe, cool decor and overall barbering experience make this location a smart choice for a fresh cut.
2. Town Barber (Google rating 4.8 out of 5)
Town barber founder, considered to be one of the early resurgents of barbershop culture in Toronto opened up his own shop with a cool traditional vibe. Based on its reviews their cuts and service have been exceptional and they've been able to build a steady loyal following.
3. Throne Barbershop (Google rating 4.8 out of 5)
One of the top rated on our list, Throne Barbershop has made its mark in downtown Toronto. Although we haven't had the chance ourselves to experience Throne the clientele rave about the cuts here. Match that with good music and the potential run-in with Toronto sport figures then you got a mix for success.
4. Bellwoods Barbers (Google rating 4.5 out of 5)
We've been going to Bellwoods for about a year now. Our experience has always been great and it's classic approach along with its Bellwoods park vibe makes it a stand out in the Dundas West neighbourhood. Not to mention our barber Jose has been killing the cuts and fades for us!
5. Kings Landing Barbershoppe (Google rating 4.4 out of 5)
When we lived in the Kensington market neighbourhood Kings Landing was our religious spot for clean fades and sharp cuts. It's modern take with throwback elements creates a cool barbershop vibe that any city would be happy to represent. That said, it would be smart to call-in to check on the waiting list or to drop by early since they don't take appointments.
6. Crows Nest (Google rating 4.6 out of 5)
Crows Nest opened almost a decade ago in a basement in Kensington Market. The shop has built a solid reputation and has a cool vibe along with a killer fade mentality. Definitely worth a mention on our list.
7. Blood & Bandages Barbershop (Google rating 4.7 out of 5)
Blood & Bandages considered to be one of the OG shops in the city have developed a solid reputation. The shop has a classic vibe ideal for anyone seeking the original barbershop experience.
If you are looking for a new barbershop or passing through the city, then test a few of these reputable spots and let us know what you think.
It's not to say these are the only good barbershops in Toronto, like we said earlier, there are loads of talent spread throughout the city, so we've added a few more below that deserve a major shout.
